The Myra Boccardi Desroches Advancing Young Minds Fund, held at the Main Street Community Foundation in Bristol, Connecticut, has raised tens of thousands of dollars. Together, we’ve made grants to nonprofit organizations across Connecticut that are doing the very work Myra believed in—putting books in the hands of children, igniting their curiosity, and advancing their future.
Almost four years ago, we lost Myra to cancer at just 46. She was Ryland’s mom, Michael’s wife, Nancy’s daughter, Pete and Becky’s sister, a sister-in-law, an auntie to four young adults, a niece, a cousin, a treasured friend, and a gifted educator whose calling was clear: to help young minds grow—especially through literacy. In the time since her passing, you’ve helped us turn heartbreak into hope. Myra will continue to live on in the hearts of all whose lives she touched!
